A Diana é de Fave e é homossexual. Durante as nossas conversas falamos sobre a dificuldade de alguém se descobrir homossexual. A Diana lembra-se de ter 6 anos e sentir constantemente confusa consigo mesma. De achar que nasceu no corpo errado, simplesmente porque não se identificava com as restantes raparigas. Aos 13 anos, já com outra mentalidade, e outro tipo de informação, finalmente apercebeu-se o que havia de diferente nela.
A nossa sociedade foi construída em conceitos que começam a quebrar. Na sociedade portuguesa, existem já personalidades que ajudam, a pessoas como a Diana, a perceberem que são normais, e não nada de errado na sua existência. No entanto ainda não existe nenhum Gocha feminino. Assim como nenhum Gocha é eterno, quanto tempo mais irá demorar para termos as nossas televisões cheias de Gochas?
Nas nossas conversas havia sempre algo que me deixava surpreendida. Muita gente a confundia com um rapaz, o que a divertia. E o mais fantástico era como, as pessoas que se confundiam, se sentiam um pouco indignadas por terem sido enganadas. Um simples corte de cabelo pode ser destruidor em dados adquiridos como certos, para certas pessoas.
Diana is from Fave, and she's lesbian. On our conversations, we used to talk about how hard it is for someone to know they are homosexual. Diana remembers when she was 6 years old, she used to feel so confuse with herself. She used to think that she was born on the wrong body, just because she could identify herself with the other little girls. When she was 13, with another mentality, and another type of information, she finally realized what made her different.
Our society was made on concepts that are starting to break. In the Portuguese society, there are famous personalities that help to realize, people like Diana, that they are normal, and there's nothing wrong with them. However there isn't any strong feminine personality.
In our conversations there would be always something that would make so surprise. A lot of persons used to mistake her for a boy, what would make her laugh. And the most amazing thing was, the persons who would be mistaking her, some of them would be so frustrated that they were deceived. A simple hair cut can be so powerfull.
